Another season, another new face. Just days before The View kicks off Season 22, the long-running talk show has added another voice and a conservativeone at that.
Former Fox & Friends Weekend host Abby Huntsman will occupy the vacant spot left by departing Sara Haines who’s heading to Good Morning America to co-host the new third hour with Michael Strahan. Huntsman will join returning talkers Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and fellow conservative voice Meghan McCain.
“We have an exciting season ahead of us and are thrilled to welcome Abby Huntsman to The View,” ABC said in a statement. “She brings her unique life and professional experiences and has a smart, relatable and distinctive point of view on everything from pop culture to politics to parenthood. We can’t wait to return to the Hot Topics table with Abby joining our panel of incredibly talented women whose diverse voices have always played a significant role in the national conversation.”
In addition to having a conservative voice, Abby has another thing in common with Meghan. Her father also works in Washington. Jon Huntsmanis a former presidential candidate and current U.S. Ambassador to Russia.
“I couldn’t be more be excited to return to my professional roots at ABC News,” Huntsman said in a statement. “I look forward to adding my own point of view to the most interesting and successful talk show on television today. Joining the women at ‘The View’ really is a dream come true!”
What are your thoughts on another conservative voice on the panel? Personally, I think it’s great. Sometimes it feels like everyone’s ganging up on McCain. With that being said, I wonder if Abby and Meghan will ever have heated debates on conservative issues.
The View returns Tuesday, September 4.
